MILITARY RANK: Major

SQUADRON (S): 11th Bombardment Group

YOUR POSITION (S) WITH THE TIGERS:  CO of 11th Bombardment Group

TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECOME INVOLVED WITH THE TIGERS:
I believe I was aware about the Tigers from other Damage Military sim pilots such as Jared Zander who was an aircraft designer I served with in the Alliance Navy.  I had been involved with many Damage sim militaries and the last group I was with (Holy Order of Light) dissolved.  I headed over to Kumming - took a look around and decided I would give it a try and signed up.  Never been happier with any other military group - Damage or Vice.

YOUR FAVORITE PLANE TO FLY:
Many Fighters - Shana's Zero is FAST - and I love any model of the P-51 Mustang and FAU-1D Corsair.
I love all the big bombers - B-24 Liberator, B-17 Flying Fortress, B-25 Mitchell, A-26 Invader and I fly them all. My all time favorite bombers to fly is the German Condor and the A-26 Invader

IF YOU COULD INVITE ANYONE FROM REAL LIFE AVIATION INTO SECOND LIFE, WHO WOULD IT BE?   WHY?
Major OLDS - the WW2 and Vietnam Air ACE

BESIDES LOVING TO FLY, WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN SECOND LIFE?
My limited time in SL is really dedicated to Flying Tigers.  But when I do have some free time - I like to explore new sims - usually blow up the main map and TP to one of the sims at the outer regions of the SL map and have a look around.

Special Report From Major General Marcus Ho

Major General Marcus Ho generously provided the special report below in both Chinese and English:

Spirit of a Ethnic

*********************************************************************************

I saw a very good essay on the Internet recently:
"72 years ago, 26th year of the Republic (1937), the Japanese decided to launch the war, because they thought they were unbeatable, at that time Japan had more money than China, they got better soldiers, better weapons, they had Mitsubishi Industries, Zero fighters, aircraft carriers, but China what they got, were warlords, Triad everywhere, many people could not even read, and they afraid to die, basely China did not have any heavy industries, you could easily count how many planes they got. Few broken ships flowed on Yangtze River, everyone were panic, very weak, that was why the Japanese told the world, to destroy the entire China, only need three months. So that they came in, so that they fought the war for 8 years, and so that they lost the war. Because they did not know the Chinese well, when they came inside China, just one night, they found that everything changed. Warlords could join together to fight war, Triad could be the good guys, Illiteracy did not know a single word, but they did know not to be a traitor, people who afraid of death, sometime they could not afraid of death. Japanese they did not understand, so that they failed, they were, they are and they will."
_________________________________________________________________________
This remind me a scene from Taiwanese movie " The Everlasting Glory"
Japanese Officer said to General Cheung: When I was child, the Primary school teacher always held an apple from North East China and told us, " Go to China to eat apple when you grow up." Now they (pointed at dead Japanese soldiers) all tried that apple, it was too bitter.
_______________________________________________________________
When the Japanese started the war, they forgot one thing, the Spirit of a Ethnic. Maybe Chinese has some shortcoming, but we can overcome all the difficulties, all the strong enemies. I hope everyone, Never forget the history!!

Blog Spotlight: Maj. General Marcus Ho

SL NAME: Marcus Ho (marcus.warbunsee)

MILITARY RANK: Major General (Republic Of China)

SQUADRON (S): Flying Tigers Command Staff
Republic Of China National Revolutionary Army 88th Division

YOUR POSITION (S) WITH THE TIGERS: Liaison Officer, Advisor

TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECOME INVOLVED WITH THE TIGERS: About 3 years ago I started to play SL. When I first went to the WW2 RP Sims (Ravenloft) I noticed the FT Base (at that time FT Base was linked with the Ravenloft). I am Chinese in RL so that I joined FT. At that time all my knowledge about FT was come from the history lessons in RL Hong Kong School, a group of Americans came to China to help us fight against Japan. I knew G, the commander of FT then. We talked a lot about the history. After the lessons in Academy I became a 2nd Lt in 3rd Sq. I met a lot of new friends, we flew together, we chilled together, a lot of fun. And like that till now, I had spent my 3 years with all my lovely FT Mates.

YOUR FAVORITE PLANE TO FLY:
My favorite plane will be the I-16, Chinese version, made by the TIG. The only reason is simple, this is a ROCAF Plane, It is small but not weak, I had a lot memorials with it.

IF YOU COULD INVITE ANYONE FROM REAL LIFE AVIATION INTO SECOND LIFE, WHO WOULD IT BE?   WHY?
I did invited one of my RL Friends one year ago, he enjoyed it a lot but later due to his RL work, he had to give up on playing SL. What a pity.

BESIDES LOVING TO FLY, WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN SECOND LIFE?
I love WW2 RP Combat, which is the main thing I focus now on SL. Also, I tried my best to let more people know about the history of Chinese during WW2. China fought with Japan for 8 years, much early than other countries , many people spent their life to protect China including my grandpa. Most of the people thought China was Axis or Communist, but actually China was in Allied at that time, also ruled by Nationalist. Well, it is still a long road to go through, but I will try my best to let more people know our history.

"Well it was a typical Thursday afternoon when one of our own, Whitewolf Mumfuzz opened his sim. Like in typical Tiger fashion we christian'd the sim with a good ol' dogfight. It wasn't a pretty sight with everyone flyin in kmk mode. It was all too often seeing carnage and debries everywhere. With plenty of laughing, good humor and stories to tell in the future."

______________________________

Congratulations and thank you for choosing NexGen!  Settle into the cockpit of your new Spitfire Mk. Vb Floatplane and get ready for some fun!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About the Spitfire Mk. Vb Floatplane:
During the 1940 Norwegian campaign, the RAF found itself at a disadvantage with relatively few airfields to operate from during the German invasion of Norway and Denmark, Operation Weserübung. In fact, on the day of the invasion, 9 April, German paratrooper units seized three main airfields in the southern part of the country near the capital, Oslo.

The British Air Staff issued a priority requirement for floatplane versions of both the Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane that could operate out of the many fjords of the Norwegian coast.

Although the Sea Spitfire was not fully deployed, it was flown and it was operational for a very short period.
NEXGEN has brought the Spitfire Floatplane back to life for your SL flying pleasure.

You can purchase your new Nexgen Spitfire via the Second Life Marketplace at the following link:
