Wednesday April 25, 2012 is ANZAC Day, which commemorates the brave Australian and New Zealand soldiers who lost their lives at Gallipoli. Below is a list of things that will occur in the WW2 Tribute sim, to honor these brave and fallen soldiers:
Events: We have a small memorial on the WW2 Tribute Sim, at the SL Airport Expo. The memorial has two fields of poppies, Austrlian and New Zealand flags at half mast, and a Remembrance Book, where guests can write notices of condolence and remembrance to the fallen heros of Gallipoli. Two ANZAC Signs are also posted, where guests can click on them to visit the official Australian Government website for ANZAC events, history, and protocols.
To honor the fallen heros of Gallipoli, during the 12pm to 2pm slt SL Airport Expo event, DJ Jami will ask everyone to observe 1 minute of silence beginning at 1230 pm slt. The windlight settings on WW2 Tribute will be changed to sunset throughout this time. After the one minute of silence, a 21 one gun salute and taps will be played.
